VICTO National joined the International Cooperative Tourism Program at Selangor- Perak, Malaysia (June 15-20, 2014)

 

Many of the co-operatives, although they may be mostly involved in sectors such as agriculture, foodstuffs, banking, insurance, fishing, health and industry, etc., have branched out into tourism and some own companies that are dedicated specifically to tourism that came into being in order to offer travel opportunities to their members, families and employees. 

 

As we can see, the cooperative tourism is a world large phenomenon. It is necessary to say some words about the former International Association of Tourism Cooperatives (TICA), a sectoral organization of the International Cooperative Alliance. The ideals of sustainable and responsible tourism are very close to the ideals of the cooperative movement.
